It will also allow them to developtheir understanding of scale and depth as they canmove around to explore these places. In order to challenging them to develop their skillsdemonstrate these fantastic new resources, weheld a coffee morning for parents so that they couldEuropean Computer DrivingLicence qualification which is tequivalent of a GCSE. This enrichmentopportunity currently has pass rate of 100% withan average score of 93%. We are the only middleschool in the county to offer it to our more able pupils,Further to this, when pupils reach Key StageThree, they are given the opportunity to applyto be an in school Digital Leader. The selectedpupils are given the responsibility of assistingstaff and other pupils in school to developtheir ICT literacy and to use digital technologymore effectively in their lessons. This is afantastic experience for our digital leaderswho recently attended a workshop at theApple Store in EldonSquare, Newcastle toexperience these virtual worlds for themselves. They were veryenthusiastic, even baby Leo who came along with his mum.We also have a 1:1 iPad scheme which is currently running in Year 5 andin Year 8. Pupils and parents have been given the opportunity to purchasean iPad to use in lessons during the school day to enhance and xtendlearning opportunities and some are able to take their devices home toused them there too. Year 5 have seen a dramaticimprovement in maths learning especiallywith children showing a much greaterunderstanding of their times tablesthrough an app called Times Tablemaximise their understanding and skills in using ourschool iPads.bettmore effectively and use a wider variety ofprograms to broaden their learningjourneyTwo of our members of staff recently attended the Bettfair in London where they were able to seedemonstrations and exhibitions of new and excitingtechnology that we could soon be using in schoolWhen
